Crypto Newsletter — 3rd August 2022
Hello and welcome to the Fruitlab Crypto Newsletter!
We are here to update you with all of the news from us and around the world of web3 — let’s get in to it.
Owning Crypto means you’re smart and attractive
According to a study, Crypto Investors are perceived as more attractive, smarter and wealthier. All round pretty good.
There was however some caveats. A quarter of women said that an NFT profile picture was a huge turn-off, and 69% (nice) of crypto investors have had a relationship end due to (probably poor) investments.
This of course doesn’t mean that earning some PIPs on Fruitlab will make you more attractive, but it might.
Bitcoin inventor still unknown
The man proclaiming to be the notorious Satoshi Nakamoto has had their claim rejected in a UK court.
Craig White had been accusing cryptocurrency podcaster and blogger Peter McCormack of libel, for saying he is not elusive creator of BTC.
This is not White’s first high-profile encounter, with Vitalik (ethereum creator) calling him out for false claims, as well as White announcing his intention to offload his Bitcoin.
His position as a whale (a holder of a large amount of the cryptocurrency) meant this had a large effect on confidence in the coin.
The real Satoshi Nakamoto is still out there. I̶ ̶k̶n̶o̶w̶ ̶b̶e̶c̶a̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶m̶e̶.̶
The Metaverse still has a long way to go before we see it in it’s final form according to Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin.
He believes that “The ‘metaverse’ will occur, but I don’t believe any of the current corporate attempts to purposely construct the metaverse will succeed,”.
Whilst the idea of the Metaverse seems cool — it’s fair to say that we are a way off it being the norm. But be ready for when it is — think you could handle Juice IRL?
Chipotle are giving away free Crypto.
Using their rewards app you can play a game for a chance to win $45,000 in Bitcoin (BTC), $10,000 in Ether (ETH), $13,750 in Solana (SOL), $14,250 in Avalanche (AVAX) and $14,250 in Dogecoin (DOGE).
You can also buy the popular Mexican food using crypto soon too at their USA stores — imagine how many burritos you could buy if you win…
No NFT’s say Minecraft
Minecraft has banned Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and blockchain technologies in its client and server applications.
The team say this is to ensure a “safe and inclusive experience.”
Some projects have been left in an awkward position as they were building solutions around the game.
It is unclear if this is a permanent position by Minecraft but we hope they have a change of heart soon.
‘Memecoin’ Shiba Inu’s long awaited game is finally close.
Shiba Eternity will be a mobile game that will be out soon and will surely utilise the token.
We’re excited, but mostly because we just like the dogs.
That’s all from us — but we will be back soon with a very special edition for a state-of-play report on everything Crypto at Fruitlab specifically.
See you then!
